About Me

My name is Caitlin. I am a Play Therapist and Paediatric Occupational Therapist with close to 10 years of clinical experience working with children and 6 years experience being a mother to two high energy and highly sensitive children. 

I've always felt called to work with children and families in respectful and developmentally appropriate ways. It was through my evolution into motherhood that really highlighted to me the true importance and magic of childhood, and prompted me to delve deeper into ways that I could therapeutically support children which is where I found my passion for Play Therapy. 

Connection, Empowerment and Play underpin all that I do here at Heart Tree Play Therapy. It is my goal to walk alongside you and your child in your process towards healing and harmony here in my Play Room in Mount Helena. My desire in my work is to assist parents to grow in their trust in themselves and their child. I believe in raising children with simplicity and utilising a family centered approach where everyone's needs are equally valued and can be met. 

I trust and believe that children have within them all that they need in order to heal and work towards  mastery, and it is through the safety of the therapeutic relationship that they are able to process through the difficulties that they are facing. Play Therapy focuses on the child, not on the child's problems so I will see your child truly for who they truly are. For me, this work is more than a job. When you and your child come into my Play Room, you do get my years of clinical experience, but you also get attunement, connection, authenticity, acceptance and it is these things that make all of the difference.
